"Emerging Devices for Heart Failure Therapies"

Nosheen Reza, MD, FACC, FHFSA will deliver the 35th annual Irwin R. Callen, MD Memorial Lectureship, the "Legacy of Knowledge" on August 5, 2023 at 8:00 am (EST) as part of the Annual Meeting of the Florida Chapter, American College of Cardiology.  The title of her lecture is "Emerging Devices for Heart Failure Therapies".

The landscape of device-based therapies for heart failure has rapidly transformed over the last decade. Several device-based therapies have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of heart failure, and even more novel therapies that target structural or neurohormonal derangements in heart failure are in the development pipeline. Knowing how to integrate these therapies with pharmacologic therapy for heart failure is of increasing importance for the cardiovascular care team, and appropriate patient selection for these diverse therapies will be of paramount importance. This lecture will review the current and emerging ecosystem of device-based therapy in heart failure with a focus on clinical applications.

As an Assistant Professor of Medicine, she cares for patients in the Penn Center for Inherited Cardiovascular Disease and in the Section of Heart Failure, Transplantation, and Mechanical Support.
