The motion platform is comprised of a platform, which moves back and forth. The movement of the platform is carried out using a linear motor. The linear motor is driven using an amplifier and controller. The current linear motor is able to move the platform at frequencies of 0.01 to 0.1 Hz ( 1 Hz= 60 cycles per second). The displacement of the platform in the headward and footward direction and back, produces acceleration force, measured in G’s (1G= 9.8 m/s 2 ). Since the acceleration is performed in the z plane, thus the term Gz. Typical acceleration forces used in our experimental work are 0.2 to 0.6 Gz (1.9 to 5.9 m/s 2). Note that mothers pushing a baby carriage back and forth use between 0.2 to 0.9 Gz .
